Paper Abstract:
|
This paper explores the development and evaluation of an immersive Augmented Reality (AR) application featuring an
AI-based companion designed to enhance independent learning within educational contexts. The research aimed to assess user experience (UX) across dimensions of attractiveness, usability, controllability, and motivation, along with evaluating the perceived clarity and effectiveness of the companion's guidance. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the application underwent iterative user-centered design processes followed by rigorous testing involving 18 secondary school students. The results indicate that the AR application significantly improved learner engagement and motivation, achieving high scores in attractiveness and stimulation. However, companion interactions revealed variability, particularly in transparency and originality, highlighting specific areas for improvement. Overall, the immersive AR application, combined with the AI-driven companion, demonstrates considerable potential for enhancing autonomous learning, provided targeted refinements in interaction transparency, flexibility, and thematic precision are implemented. |
