Paper Abstract:
|
This research seeks to understand and analyze the presence of digital transformation and frugal innovation in the innovation
practices of health techs. The study comprises exploratory research based on interviews with the founders of five health
techs. A content analysis was developed with the support of NVivo. It was identified that health techs are inserted in the
digital transformation context using digital technologies, but that they still lack management aspects that support their
business models. Health techs are offering innovative solutions aligned with the main characteristics of frugal innovation,
even though they seek niches unrelated to the base of the pyramid. Companies located in emerging countries need to
innovate in a context of limited resources, therefore adopting frugal innovation processes in a digital transformation context.
Sectors such as healthcare in Brazil have stimulated the development of startups, called healthtechs, which often present
frugal innovation and digital transformation as allies in the search for competitiveness. |
