Paper Abstract:      The purpose of this study was to explore the uses of the Internet in teaching and learning process and scientific research from the faculty members point of view at Kuwait University (KU). The study measured the degree of the importance and the degree of employment of the use of the internet in teaching and learning process and scientific research. Some independent variables, such as, rank (professor, associate, assistant), sex, nationality (Kuwaiti, non-Kuwaiti), experience of teaching, age, country of the study (Arabic countries, non-Arabic countries), and colleges (sciences and arts), were measured and compared with faculty members’ employments of the internet in teaching and learning process and scientific research. The sample of the study was 330 faculty members, who teach at KU in all colleges. The questionnaire was the main tool for gathering the data. The preliminary results indicated that all faculty members at KU showed a positive perceptions toward the importance of the use of the internet in teaching and learning process and in academic research. Faculty’s perceptions in the field of scientific research was more positive than their perception in the field of teaching and learning process, although no significant differences were found. Faculty members at sciences colleges (engineer, science, medicine, applied health, pharmacy) have showed the degree of the importance of the use of the Internet more than faculty members who teach at Arts colleges (Business Administration, Law, Arts, Women, Education, Sharia, Social Sciences).
