Paper Abstract:
|
Filters have long been used in image processing with the primary goal to enhance or restore an image. Filters provide a means of removing or reducing the noise in an image, sharpening of a blurred image and many other tasks to improve the appearance and aesthetics of an image. In this paper, we introduce a new type of artistic filter, called SWAP filter, which is based on the concept of swapping individual rows and / or columns of pixels. The visual effects produced by this filter resemble with that of ripple filter or as if the image has been placed behind a frosted glass containing either vertical or horizontal stripes or glass with rectangular patterns. |
