Paper Abstract:      The objective of this research is to assess factors that have an affect on social identification in the online community context. Social identification expresses a person’s positive attitude and feeling towards the group to which he belongs. The results presented here are based on a field study consisting of 250 self-reported relevant responses from online game players. Structure equation modeling results suggest that social needs are one of the most important aspects that have an effect on social identification. Physical interaction and social liberating have a significant influence on social needs.
