Paper Abstract:
|
A reflective practice is an essential skill for teachers to be more self-efficacious. While various approaches and strategies can be implemented to develop reflective practices, podcasting has the potential to be a beneficial form of professional development that helps teachers to learn through practical experience and inquiry. The purpose of this research is to explore if participating in a podcast about teaching practices impact teacher self-efficacy for classroom discipline and management. Findings suggest that podcasting is potentially beneficial to increase teacher candidates' confidence for classroom discipline and management and may be a useful tool to encourage meaningful reflection. Additionally, teacher candidates see the benefits in using podcasts with their future students. While further research is necessary, podcasting may be a useful instrument to encourage teacher self-development and create a valuable learning resource for all teachers. |
