Paper Abstract:
|
This paper presents the outcomes of the DigX project, aimed at supporting 44 Flemish secondary schools in embedding digital competences and media literacy into educational practice. Funded by the Flemish government, the project followed a bottom-up, co-creative and structured implementation strategy that combined the Four in Balance model and TPACK framework to guide professional development and ICT integration. Nine focus groups with 59 educational professionals were organized to investigate and evaluate the implementation process. Factors for the project's success involved stimulating mechanisms such as the school-specific "digital passport" for assessing teacher competences, the importance of collaborative core teams, professionalization sessions tailored to needs, peer-led training, and the guidance of skilled process coaches. The findings offer actionable insights for educational stakeholders aiming to realize sustainable digital transformation. While context-specific, the project's approach may inform similar initiatives internationally. |
