Paper Abstract:
|
Modern learning and teaching theories often include contextualization as a central aspect. Instead of outdated atomistic thinking, scaffolding structures are offered that, in varying degrees, address different contexts. Therefore, a teaching strategy using aspects of Narrative Didactics seems to be suitable for the creation of thematic and affective connections. After a short discussion of these issues, two examples of digital didactic tools for mathematics education are presented: Digital Interactive Mathematical Maps (DIMM) and Digital Educational Escape Games (DEEG). The DIMM exist for the areas of Algebra, Calculus, Geometry and Stochastics, and cover contents from lower secondary to university level. The DEEG were generated for the cases of lower and higher secondary school mathematics lessons at German Gymnasium and are illustrated for six thematic examples. All tools are freely available online. The DIMM were already used and evaluated in different fields whereby initial results of a current new study concerning the DIMM are provided. |
