Paper Abstract:      There is a wide variety of computer tools to improve the teaching and learning of mathematics in primary school. Their use implies an important effort of continuous training for teachers, but computers should remain a tool, and always serve the needs of the learning objectives. Various works have been carried out that analyze the impact of the use of computers in mathematical education, and three of them are presented. In all of them a positive impact of the use of digital technology is found. Classification of computer tools for learning mathematics is difficult, but a series of categories are proposed, together with a small sample of applications that may be used in the primary school mathematics classroom. Finally, an informal survey is conducted among mathematics teachers about their use of computer tools in the mathematics classroom. The survey shows a remarkable interest in these tools and the need of more training for teachers to use computer tools to greater advantage.
