InthispaperalgorithmsandhardwarearchitecturesforaflexibleellipticcurvecryptographicprocessorforarbitraryellipticcurvesoverGaloisfieldsGF(2m)arepresented.Theprocessorissuitableforsmartcardimplementationandduetotheflexibilityofarchitectureitallowsforfrequentchangesofthesystemsecurityparameters.IthasasitscoreanovelmethodofperformingarithmeticinGF(2m).Theimplementationresultsanddesigntrade-offsofsuchaprocessorincomparisontomoretraditionalimplementationsarediscussed. |
