Paper Abstract:
|
The WebXR technology creates a dynamic, accessible, and engaging learning environment that enhances students' educational experiences. It is adopted by educational institutes worldwide. This paper is a case report on the establishment and deployment of a WebXR platform by the Chinese Language Enhancement Programme (CLEP) at the University of Hong Kong, aims at improving students' proficiency in Chinese language communication through immersive virtual reality (VR) experiences. We explore the integration of generative AI-powered avatars that promote interactive learning and deliver real-time feedback on language usage and presentation skills, as well as the pedagogical impacts of this technology and discuss challenges encountered during implementation. |
