Paper Abstract:      This paper presents a pilot field research on the user experience of young students with video content accessed via different technologies and devices. Preferences, practices and consumptions by the pupils of a lower secondary school class were observed over a three year time period, in the framework of KidLab Media Research, an innovative approach for field studies on younger generations. The quantitative results of this test research are shown and discussed, pointing out behavioural trends and differences. Emphasis is given to methodology and project verification as well as to the qualitative interpretation of key findings in order to envisage larger longitudinal campaigns.
