Paper Abstract:      To augment an already e-learning-rich taught module on Pharmaceutical Microbiology for undergraduates studying oncampus for an MPharm degree, a series of nine, video podcasts was produced. Each podcast was approximately 10 minutes in length and generally was a distillation of material presented in two, 50 minute live lectures. The purpose of the podcasts was to prepare the students for the lectures, to enable them to assimilate them more easily and to facilitate engagement. The podcasts were published via the Blackboard virtual learning environment and students were invited to watch them before attending the relevant lectures. This paper describes the process of researching, producing and delivering these podcasts and their evaluation and use by the student cohort.
