Paper Abstract:      Integrating mobile handhelds with an instant evaluation will help teachers to conduct formative evaluation activities in classrooms and enable teachers to instantly identify students’ learning results, as well as give students instant evaluation feedback. This research has the following objectives: 1. Developing a set of classroom instant formative evaluation through mobile handhelds software to assist teachers in implementation of instant formative evaluation activities; 2. Empirical study of handhelds (tablet PC or PDA) for classroom formative evaluation to record students’ progress in each stage. The analysis of the experiments shows that differentials between the Experiment group using mobile device-based formative assessment and the control group without such devices were becoming minimized. Originally, the control group performed much better than the Experiment group, but after Experimental Treatment, the Experiment group showed a steady progress in learning.
