Paper Abstract:      This paper uses Actor-Network Theory to describe a project where an open source mobile learning tool, Mobile Learning Engine (MLE), was successfully implemented to provide post training support for a project of the National Department of Health in South Africa. The project involves the centralised training of 3535 unemployed young people as data capturers for each health facility in South Africa over a period of 21 days. As part of the post-training support of learners it was decided to offer both a telephonic help-line, as well as mobile support, given the fact that after training learners disperse all over South Africa. The paper utilises ANT's notion of translation to describe how the initial post-training technology was adapted and changed due to the interactions between the learners and the other actors of the system.
