Paper Abstract:      In this paper we describe how to use an Internet archive to study e-commerce trends in the apparel industry. Two company data sets from GAP Inc. and J. CREW were analyzed using a set of business attributes to identify e-commerce changes made over the years since 1997. We found that both companies had increased their online department divisions and improved the functionality of customer ordering service. These changes are in agreement with the vertically integrated apparel retailers in aligning their e-commerce with the store front operations.
