Paper Abstract:      While distance and e-learning programs are more prevalent in Taiwan, university courses are taught as traditional lecture courses. Use of multimedia technology could provide a more holistic approach to EFL learning and help students take a more active role in classes such as the Composition III, a third year writing skills course, and Adolescent Literature in Film, for second year students, taught in the English Department of the College of Foreign Languages of Providence University in Taiwan, ROC. Working in collaborative groups, students used PowerPoint presentations and internet and esources available through the university library. Students’ web sites/blogs and final DVD presentations took their skills learning beyond the university classroom.
