Paper Abstract:
|
The high cost of building ontologies from scratch is one of the main obstacles for development of the Semantic Web. To relieve this problem, we propose a novel approach to extracting ontologies from relational schemata. A relational schema is represented in SQL, while an ontology is represented in OWL. Our approach maps all constructs of the relational schema, with the exception of stored procedures, triggers, default constraints and check constraints that do not use enumeration. |
