Paper Abstract:      Mobile learning can support new learning experiences in authentic environments and encourages new forms of collaboration among learners. The collaboration can be viewed as an evolutionary process in informal learning. Context awareness is the key to successful collaboration among learners. But it is a complex task to integrate context awareness into the development of mobile learning systems. Based on the understanding of evolutionary collaboration in typical learning scenarios, a framework is proposed to guide the analysis process of context awareness for developing mobile collaborative learning system. In the framework, the “context” dimension shows what catalog of situational information is relevant and the “aware” dimension tells how to collect, process, filter and deliver contextual information. An example of museum mobile learning system, which is analyzed with the proposed framework, shows that the framework can help system designers to understand and analyze the requirements of context awareness in collaboration scenarios.
