Paper Abstract:      Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is an emerging architectural style for the development of interoperable, large scale and distributed software systems, promising to enable more effective asset reuse by packaging assets as reusable services accessible only via their interfaces. But with the continuing evolution of information systems, one obstacle against the realization of this vision is the cost involved in designing and generating variants of a service in an ad-hoc manner to meet varied customer requirements. Hence, the need of mechanisms that support changes and that encourage the reuse in SOA systems is essential. So, it is important to consider the concept of variability, which refers to the ability of a system to adapt, specialize and configure itself with the context of use. In this paper we try to give a formal representation of variability of services as first step to an end to end modeling method for variability management. The representation of variability is based on the extension of SOAML which is the future standard for modeling services.
