Paper Abstract:      This paper introduces a theory-based technology which allows the generation of almost endless numbers of learning text tasks. The tasks represent different structures, both on the surface and on the deep structure of the presented problems. Its main innovation is its text generator, which is controlled by a simulation model containing key variables of a simulated learner. The case is represented and automatically generated as a prose anamnesis (case history). It starts with a CV and the backgrounds of the learner’s parents. The first section ends with a general educational goal. The case and task may be used in diverse contexts in which students need to reflect on learning. The software prototype is domain specific but its underlying principles are generic. The results of the formative mixed-method evaluation study indicate a high level of acceptance over eleven subsequent weeks of prototype cases
