Paper Abstract:      The use of the internet as an information source is becoming more and more popular nowadays. To find necessary information users apply search engines, but, unfortunately, the amount of information available on the internet is so huge that searching by keywords does not give the expected results anymore. This has caused the appearance of the concept of “knowledge search”, meaning the search for specific, precise-formulated information, which is enough to create knowledge in individuals’ minds. Today there are 2 basic types of systems for knowledge search on the internet: knowledge search engines and Question & Answer websites. These systems allow a user to formulate a more precise query than usual search engines; as well they return a textual answer to the query, but not the list of links to sources that contain words from the user’s query. The systems for knowledge search can be used not only in daily life and at work, but also in learning. Whilst mastering courses, individuals often come across the knowledge search problem, e.g. performing independent works. The use of the specific systems for knowledge search, i.e. developed specially for learning, will help to solve this problem, thereby improving individuals’ progress in studies.
