Paper Abstract:      Temporal modeling of head motion during facial expression is the least focused area in the study of facial expression. The absence of head movement description can lead to incomplete expression description. Expression such as disgust and surprise may include some amount of head movement. A part of head motion, namely the neck motion plays a vital role during head pulling whenever facial expression of disgust is displayed. Therefore, this paper focuses on evaluating the neck movement during facial expression. While modeling an animation can be done using cosine and exponential based function, this paper propose the usage of spline-based model aptly named Joint Cubic Bezier (JCB) to model the neck motion during head pulling. Handling the temporal property of neck motion in form of onset-apex-offset, experiments show that using JCB, analysis and synthesis of neck motion is far better than the existing motion modeling via cosine and exponential based function.
