Paper Abstract:      The use of digital devices to scan and manipulate different formats of celluloid during postproduction stage has caused a revolution not only in the visual style of films but in some cases in narratives aspects of films. These innovations are crucial to create new aesthetics in the photographic field and the use of these new digital tools, have turned cinematographers into painters with new creative possibilities to manipulate photographic aspects of films, confirming once more cinematographers authorship. It’s all part of an evolution: people started painting on caves, then wood, then walls, then canvas, and then they started painting on film. Today they are painting digitally. There are some visual aspects that could be done by traditional ways (laboratories, in camera effects, etc) but there are new ones that only could be developed by these new ways. In this paper it would be remarked in which cases this new digital devices are crucial to develop this new visual style.
