Paper Abstract:
|
Technology has been significantly transforming software project management, while the scientific literature on the topic remains scattered and fragmented. This study investigates how different forms of technology including methodologies, tools, and platforms impact software project management. To this end, we conducted a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), following established guidelines, based on 27 studies published between 2011 and 2024. Thematic analysis of the findings led to the development of a set of ten categories of technological impact, ranging from operational transformations in decision-making to structural changes in organizational strategy. Each category is described in terms of its identified positive impacts, associated challenges, future perspectives, and practical examples of application. The main contributions of this study are: (i) an integrated view of the effects of technology on software project management practices and (ii) a conceptual framework that can support both future academic research and practical decision-making regarding technological adoption in organizational settings. |
