Paper Abstract:      Today’s lifelong learners are not only diverse in age, gender, language and technological background, but also in cultural composition and background their talents vary. This paper explores current trends in cross-cultural talent development in the European Union and beyond by using a number of key competences for the digital age as a contextual framework. The paper discusses the cultural dynamics that are inherent in the digital workplace and also considers the different needs that lifelong learners may have in enhancing their key talents, in particular in developing countries. How can ‘digital inclusion’ be ensured for all European and worldwide learners including those marginalised through social and/or economic deprivation? The paper posits that enabling talents is driven by both technological and multicultural realities of the 21st Century. It recommends, in conclusion, more comparative research, acccelerated by a sense of urgency to achieve inclusion and enabling of talents in an online, multicultural context.
