Paper Abstract:
|
Higher education institutions increasingly use virtual campuses for the management of the e-learning relationships between students and lecturers. These campuses are usually built on one or several Learning Management Systems (LMS). However, users of virtual campuses frequently demand access to other tools that are not integrated in these LMSs. This need forces architectural design to be reshaped towards a modular virtual campus, capable of integrating different services within it. This paper focuses on the integration in a virtual campus system of a software service to retrieve and store educational resources from the open web. This integration shows how to plug-in components such as educational services for learning platforms and virtual campuses using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). |
