Paper Abstract:      The applicability of cooperative social computing has been investigated for the community of students, faculty and university staff and a webbased mobile cooperative IT system has been prototyped. A site-specific cooperation scenario and system concept have been developed. Core functions have been implemented that can be used to organize cooperative projects and tasks, to demand for individual services and establish open innovation activities. The crowd of students, faculty and staff may demand for services and fulfill services. To ensure a balance of demand and supply, a social virtual currency has been defined and integrated into the system. The system also appeals to social engagement. It intends to initiate and support personal interaction and cooperation in real life projects and activities. Overall, a new site-specific channel for communication, coordination and cooperation has been developed.
