Paper Abstract:
|
This paper describes a web based project portfolio portal software, called Profolio, which is introduced as a single point of information for all projects carried out at, for example, a department of a university. This portal enables its users to browse through or search for projects using multiple search criteria and to view detailed project descriptions. The motivation for the implementation and its aims are discussed. Its most important aim is not the management of the projects itself, as is the case in most existing solutions, but to primarily increase the awareness for the projects in and beyond their organizational unit with minimum effort for the project participants. Therefore, its main design goal is simplicity of use and secondly integration of information about projects from different sources, called federation. In addition, the current state of the implementation and potential future developments are discussed. |
