Paper Abstract:      We analyze the reliability of atomic commit protocols for distributed transactions in mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs). In order to quantify the risk of blocking caused by a failure of the transaction coordinator, we present a probabilistic calculation model for strict or semantic transactions in arbitrary MANET scenarios. We evaluate the approach to integrate cooperative-recovery. For a standard MANET scenario we show that the considered blocking probability is very low even if high node and communication failure probabilities are assumed.
