Paper Abstract:      On September 27th 2007 a ‘virtual strike’ and demonstration took place in the virtual world Second Life in support of Italian workers for IBM. This paper describes the action and its background. It is used to discuss the nature of the real and the virtual, the concept of the ‘production of space’ as a social process, the possibility of labour remaking the spaces defined by capital and the value of the Internet as a tool for labour organisations.
