Paper Abstract:      One of the key mechanisms for QoS provisioning is the call admission control, which manages system resources based on application QoS requirements. To address the QoS provisioning issue in the multimedia wireless network, we have proposed a conservative and adaptive QoS (CAQoS) provisioning model. CAQoS is designed to optimize the existing CAC scheme based on two parameters, which are the conservative rate and bandwidth scale-down rate. In this paper, we highlight the novelty of the proposed CAQoS and investigate its performance impact under different conservative and bandwidth scale-down rates, through simulations of a realistic wireless cellular-based environment.
