Paper Abstract:      Nowadays, heart diseases are considered as the first cause of death all around the world. Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) becomes the standard in heart imaging and disease diagnosis. The CMR tests result in a high amount of information that has to be manually inspected by the cardiologists. In this paper, we propose the use of the generalized fuzzy Hough transform to automatically identify the cardiac regions of interest (ROIs) in CMR images. A quality estimator for the ROI is calculated and the images are classified to simplify the manual inspection task. Tests for the the pattern validation and the CMR images classification are conducted. The goodness of the results validates this method.
