Paper Abstract:      Methods for developing touchless user interfaces are still under investigation. Promising approaches to come up with usable gestures combine two phases: First, gestures are elicited from users by asking them to demonstrate gestures for given tasks or dialogs. Afterwards a gesture set is extracted and tested with users in a subsequent evaluation phase. The steps within the two phases may differ due to different challenges to overcome, like the gesture extraction. This paper reports on the methods and results of those two phases in the context of interactions with a medical information system during anesthesia induction.
