Paper Abstract:      Outsourcing is one of the key aspects for the development of high performance networks in different sectors, with the adequate development of the outsourcing strategy enabling companies to focus on the activities that constitute core competences while outsourcing those that do not result in a high level of competitiveness internally. Electronic commerce is a new option for developing supply chains and distribution channels in a virtual environment and has the special characteristic of outsourcing activities being a key element to achieve the objectives of results and quality of services offered to customers. This paper attempts to address outsourcing in electronic commerce by first providing a methodology based on resources and capabilities to implement this type of strategy, then the relational view to be developed, and finally, the process to be followed to outsource activities. In each of the theoretical aspects dealt with, proposals are made about outsourcing in electronic commerce with the aim of providing a theoretical framework that helps contribute ideas that broaden the perspectives in this new field of knowledge.
