Paper Abstract:      This study particularly examines if mHealth applications can contribute to providing more opportunity for the underserved population, i.e. migrant workers, to access to improved healthcare. A qualitative study was conducted to examine the migrant workers’ attitude, behavior and habit towards mHealth applications, which involves the users in the early stages of designing of a health behavior change system. The findings from the interviews include: the migrant workers are familiar with smart phones though they are lack of health information literacy; they seek health information mainly from mass medias, such as TV, news etc.; they tend to accept health information passively, i.e. via information pushing, and believe in it immediately without any verification. Then a mobile application was prototyped to examine the feasibility to satisfy the migrant workers’ needs and habit.
