Paper Abstract:      As a result of the life expectancy increase, several social changes have been noticed. With the impressive expansion and evolution of technology, and considering the difficulties of older people on adapting to new tools and methods, the traditional model of learning has been inverted. In this paper, we present data from an online training course dedicated to senior citizens (aged over 55 years) from the island of St. Michael – Azores, with the purpose of teaching and learning the basic concepts that allow them to use the information and communication technologies. This project allowed collecting some characteristics of these users. It was shown that is necessary to carefully consider both the content and the learning opportunities of older people. Therefore, a reflection on ways to include the seniors in the information society is fundamental for them to achieve citizenship in all its plenitude.
