Paper Abstract:      Multiagent systems (MASs) have become an important topic in distributed systems research. The term multiagent system is currently popular and has been generally applied to any system that is or can be considered to be composed of multiple interacting agents. Addressing the coordination mechanisms to handle interdependencies that exist between agents is a problem that occurs in MASs. In this paper, we propose two levels MAS modeling scheme and a library of coordination mechanisms modeled using Colored Petri Nets (CPNs). These mechanisms control the dependencies between agents to avoid unsafe interactions where individual agents' plans are merged into a global multiagent plan. This separation, managed by the coordination mechanisms, offers more powerful modularity in MASs modeling.
