Paper Abstract:      Many educators still struggle to envision the implications of the continuing rampant development of information and communication technologies. While some tend to assume that the current knowledge network economy paradigm will continue to evolve linearly as a human centric communications network between teacher and student, this paper argues that education in the future increasingly will be conducted through “software-based teachers” on global ubiquitous networks of digital knowledge components managed and maintained by autonomous agents. This new paradigm will be powered by new extremely advanced information and communication technologies with little or no human interaction, linked across the planet on ubiquitous networks of autonomous objects. It will change virtually every aspect of our lives; business, investing, science, health care, entertainment, teaching, learning and more. This paper presents a case study of the first practical steps in what we se as a gradual evolution of mobile learning beyond the prevailing paradigm of the human centric knowledge network economy towards the next paradigm of an object centric knowledge network economy based on global ubiquitous networks between autonomous agents and software-based teachers.
