Paper Abstract:      This work presents the design of a learning methodology for the validation of independent learning and knowledge management skills. The learning model is based on competencies found within the Computer Science curriculum at Catholic University of Temuco, Chile (UCT). The design outlines the steps and learning objectives through activities which contribute to the learning outcomes, and which are gradually incorporated in the accumulating skill levels. The methodology calls for generating teaching and learning strategies based on theory, practice and experimentation. The problematology in teaching and student learning in classroom activities is developed through autonomous and mixed hours. This allows vertical integration of independent learning and knowledge management skills, and also permits subsequent validation.
