Paper Abstract:      In today’s educational societies, various compositions of student populations, new paradigms in teaching and learning and expectations about the quality of education occur at an unexpected rate. In the absence of well designed professional development programs, academicians have been left to learn how to improve their teaching on their own, learn from trial and error, and individually seek the required professional development. In the new educational era, the trial and error teaching, and take it or leave it professional development programs cannot be accepted anymore. Faculty training is more than the matter of only knowing some practical knowledge and pedagogical skills. Meanwhile, Internet can be considered as an effective tool to develop instructors’ proficiencies. This article is intended to give an insight into instructors’ professional development and tendency to use Internet in faculty training programs.
