Paper Abstract:
|
More and more seniors are using digital technologies for a variety of purposes, including entertainment and information
access. Our consultations have shown that seniors are not always aware of online environments that can help them avoid
life situations that weaken their autonomy. The aim of this research and development project is to assess the relevance of
inclusive design criteria used in the design and implementation of online training for this target population. Based on a
user-oriented methodology, the results of the study, which involved a sample of 112 seniors, indicate that the criteria of
design adaptation, user-friendliness and readability should be taken into account when developing online training.
Regardless of the digital equipment used (computer, tablet or phone), the screen display is crucial; the structure,
homogeneity and uniformity of the graphic interface help seniors to look at what's important on the screen. Navigation
must be intuitive, since it helps seniors interact with the training content and achieve the goals they set for themselves in
coming to a website. Text and sound treatments, along with integrated images, lead to a high degree of readability,
enabling seniors to better understand the content. |
