Paper Abstract:      E-Learning platforms provide many different solutions how users can interact with content. This paper presents an annotation tool for digital graphical representations. The tool has been designed to supply users with an instrument to combine comments or annotations with the corresponding resource. The resource might be an image, a selected part of an image or another annotation. A set of figures and styles allows the user to distinguish between original document and annotation as well as among annotations. The tool introduces a management area, so that users and teachers can share their annotations and manage annotations regarding to their privileges. Annotations can provide further information on digital objects and can help users to combine information or information threads with the original document. Furthermore additional information can be used for better document retrieval.
