Paper Abstract:
|
This paper presents the Hefestos Wheelchair, designed to provide ubiquitous accessibility for wheelchair users. The project aims at supporting accessibility for People With Disability (PWD) and elderly in various situations of their everyday life. This solution is based on Hefestos model that offers context awareness, user profiles and trails management as a base for assistive technologies applications that fulfills accessibility needs. We also present a smart wheelchair which was developed to evaluate the model. This assessment used the wheelchair operated by ten people who use a wheelchair at University of the Sinos Valley (Unisinos). |
