Paper Abstract:      A grid computing resource has been created and is being developed to assist on the study of Forest Fire propagation. It employs Condor for the purposes of creating and managing a pool of computational resources from the laboratory workstations and Ganglia for resource monitoring. The actual simulations are part of a methodology to assess the uncertainties on Forest Fire propagation results. We describe the basic components of the overall framework and put forward some results on the ongoing work. The grid computing paradigm is shown to be perfectly suited for this type of application.
