Paper Abstract:      The purpose of the study is to illustrate how the use of a shepherd metaphor successfully crossed cultural boundary and facilitated the online interactions of students with Confucius Heritage Cultural (CHC) background in Taiwan. This paper is a partial result of an action research in a college advanced reading class, utilizing shepherd leadership to cross CHC students’ online cultural boundary. Shepherd leadership involves addressing by students’ first names, directing their paths, exercising leadership and discipleship, and calling out to silent ones for participation.
