Paper Abstract:      Model-based User Interface generation plays an important role in the fast and iterative model-based development of Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) in software development projects. While many approaches can be found in research and practice, they still are not widely used. To cover the current state of the art in generators for full-featured user interfaces, we conducted a survey on existing approaches – also as a basis for further research. From the 30 frameworks checked for matching JMatter, MetaWidget, OpenXava, Roma Framework, Wicket RAD and Wicket Web Beans have been selected for a detailed evaluation with a standardized test scenario. This article presents the results of the evaluation and the general findings and implications that arise from it.
