Paper Abstract:
|
The Portuguese construction industry is, in an attempt to keep up with market demands, striving to maintain its competitiveness. The communication practices and policies throughout the supply chain are now changing from paper, fax and e-mail to internet based systems. This paper is based on a case study of a company A. M. Mesquita
(AMM) using the Internet for procurement and will focus on a particular development that acts as a decision support sub-system of an extranet adjudication tool. It is based on configurable evaluation forms where is possible to define several assessment criteria with different weight contribution to generate a numeric index. This index acts as a sorting index used to generate the proposals ranking and, this way, helping in the adjudication/tender decision. |
