Paper Abstract:      This paper proposes a novel e-learning and remote educational support system for technical experiments involving electronic circuit making. The proposed system is applicable to various circuit types and learning environments, such as computer aided circuit design and learning the manufacture of both virtual and real circuits. Therefore, this system has the advantage of allowing the user to choose a preferred educational support system on the basis of the required purpose or environment. This system consists of a computer network together with an analysis system that runs on the network. During experiments, each user uses a portable computer having a single camera. For the experiment, the analysis system acquires video data obtained using the camera and automatically recognizes circuit construction in real-time by using moving image processing. The analysis system can also translate the circuit design into a general circuit description language (SPICE). This translation technique can indicate circuit performance parameters and the presence of incorrect parts in the circuit. The usefulness and effectiveness of the proposed system was evaluated by analyzing circuits made by 49 university students in an actual class.
