Paper Abstract:      In recent years companies of all sizes have invested in e-business technologies in an attempt to gain a competitive advantage. This paper attempts a comparative analysis of the benefits from and barriers to e-business in small and large companies in Australia. We establish that a strong correlation exists between the ranking orders of large and small companies for both the benefits from and impediments to e-business indicating that for both the benefits and impediments the ranking orders are not independent. In other words there is a strong association between the ranking orders of large and small companies in both benefits and impediments to e-business. Further, investigation of the responses from small and large companies indicated that there generally appeared to be a higher level of response from large companies. T-tests were carried out to assess the statistical significance of these apparent differences.
